The 7 Best Things To Do On 4/20
Ahh, 4/20. Just a few weeks away. For any cannabis smoker—casual or not—the unofficial holiday is sure to put smiles on faces. Mostly, because everyone is zooted out of their minds. But for true, hardcore stoners, 4/20 is more like a second birthday.
With the landscape of the cannabis industry rapidly changing, there’s more and more cool stuff one can use to celebrate. Edibles, vape pens, new strains—you name it.
So, in honor of our favorite holiday, we decided to make this comprehensive guide for all those looking to do something other than the classic garage blunt sesh. Take a look at how to plan the ultimate 4/20.
It’s going to rule.
7. Make (And Eat) Edibles
Edibles are key for 4/20. If you’re a regular smoker, rolling a joint or using a bong, pipe or a blunt, is pretty mundane. And for some, it’s already part of their daily routine.
4/20 is different. You’re going to want to consume your cannabis every way humanly possible. Edibles are, without a doubt, the most exciting way. You have the option of making classics like brownies as well as more trendy treats like boba tea or a matcha latte.
Make your edibles ahead of time so they are ready to go. Sometimes, the process of making cannabutter can take a few hours, so better start early.
6. Gather Your Toker Friends
This is imperative. We know you love your non-smoking friends, but let’s be real: this holiday is probably not their cup of tea.
Gather your closest friends that love the herb almost or as much as you do. If you don’t have any cannabis-loving friends, you can always go out and make a few at some weed-friendly events.
Or just celebrate alone!
5. Pick a Dope Place To Eat
What’s 4/20 without the munchies?
For most of us, eating and smoking go hand and hand— especially if you’re consuming an enormous amount of pot. After all, it is 4/20.
Our advice? You and your buds might want to decide on a place before you guys get incredibly high.
People sometimes tend to become indecisive when they’re too stoned.
4. Take A Road Trip To A Weed Legal City
This isn’t technically necessary for people that already live in Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont, Washington or Washington D.C.
But for those who don’t, you should seriously go check out a weed-legal state to get the full 4/20 experience.
Check out a dispensary. Go on a weed tour. Smoke in a park.
Okay, maybe not that last one if it’s not legal in the area.
3. Check Out a Live Show
One of our suggestions on how to spend 4/20, is to check out a live show.
Whether it’s a local band, or a stand-up comedy performance, there’s nothing quite like live entertainment when you’re out of your mind blasted.
If you’re one of those smokers who can’t control your laughter, we suggest the latter. But you can never go wrong with live music. Especially some reggae or smooth jazz.
2. Get Creative
This 4/20, why not use the day to get in touch with your creative side? Consume a bit of bud and take some charcoal to a canvas, or whatever your preferred medium is.
Maybe you’re a budding filmmaker and want to spend the day shooting a movie.
Plenty of artists have been inspired by weed. You could be one of them and don’t even know it!
1. Attend an Event
While spending 4/20 with your nearest and dearest is great, there’s just something extra special about spending the day with a huge group of like-minded people. Surrounding yourself with people who have similar interests, goals and ideologies is not only affirming, but can be totally empowering.
Especially if those interests are as politically charged as the issue of cannabis legalization.
This 4/20, why not attend an annual event that will help you accomplish just that? The High Times Cannabis Cup in Southern California takes place on April 20-22nd.
This annual event features music, vendors, and of course, the guest of honor: Mary Jane. Tickets are on sale now.
Don’t miss this great opportunity for the ultimate 4/20!
